NJHSElsberry Middle School has joined the prestigious ranks of the National Honor Society and initiated a chapter of the National Junior Honor Society this year. Not just an honor roll, the Honor Society establishes rules for membership that are based upon a student's outstanding performance in the areas of scholarship, service, leadership, character and citizenship, based on the ideals of the National Honor Society.

Students are afforded consideration for induction if they are in 6th grade or higher and have had two semesters of 3.5 or higher grade point average. Students will then be given the opportunity to fill out an application for induction that will include a faculty recommendation and student essay. The faculty council will select students and an induction ceremony held post selection.
