Thank you Summer Hagemeier, EMS Counselor, and Katelynn Hammett, CCE Counselor, for organizing our first ever Careers on Wheels event. The students in grades K-8 were able to see a variety of work vehicles while learning about different careers. Mrs. Boedeker’s 7th grade science class presented their marble runs to elementary students today. Ask your 7th grader how many carnival tickets they earned.

All students and staff are encouraged to participate in College in Career week themes. A vareity of activities will be occuring during the week to promote college and career readiness.

CAMPL is what we call our rotation for computers, art, music, P.E. and library. Students have many new experiences and multiple opportunities to share their talents during these classes. Pictured are 5th grade students practicing rhythm with Mrs. Heras during music class.

EMS fall softball is one extracurricular opportunity students have during 7th and 8th grade. Mrs. Susan Painter and Mrs. Trudy Bull are the middle school softball coaches. These photos are from the game vs. Clopton.

We are so proud of our 7th grade cross country team! They have put in a lot of miles this season. They just ran at their conference meet held at Wellsville last Monday. They ran against some tough competition where temperatures were not ideal. Will and Wyatt both had PR’s that day! Can’t wait to see them race on their home course on Monday, September 26th!

Explorer's Club is enrolling students in grades K-5. Limited bus service is available in the evenings. Family discounts are available if more than one child is enrolled. If you have questions or would like more information sent home please call 573-898-5554 ext. 267.

Our Boys and Girls Basketball coaching staff are starting a 6-week program to teach the fundamentals of basketball to 4th, 5th, and 6th grade students. Throughout the 6 weeks, players will learn the fundamentals of the game to prepare them for school paid tournaments and guidance for teams interested in joining a CNR league. All of our CNR teams will be coached by parents that are going to be instructed by our coaches with skills training, drills and practice plans. With your help, we feel we can launch a successful youth basketball program. Listed below are the dates for the 6-week program. October 1st October 8th October 15th October 22th November 5th November 12th (play during the red and white scrimmage) @ 5pm All of these dates will be 2-hour sessions from 9am-11am on Saturdays only. We are offering this program for a one time fee of $50.00 per athlete. Mrs. Ogden's science class did an experiment using the scientific method to discover which product would work best to clean windows.

Tatum Cross is one of our fifth grade teachers. This is her third year teaching fifth grade at EMS after graduating from Southeast Missouri State University.
